Bamboo skewers are wonderful for cooking and serving. With their strong, sharp points, one can easily impale thinly cut pieces of pork, chicken, and beef for sautees and kebabs for barbecuing. The skewers usually come in three sizes: 9, 12, and 15 centimeters. Once soaked in water, bamboo skewers can be used directly over a barbecue fire. They do not burn easily and will remain cool to the touch while you eat.
